Things We Lost. Things We Learned. Things We Love.
Community Art Installation Project
Artists: Diamond Students, Teachers, Administrators & Staff
This year has been challenging to say the least. Local, national, & global events have compounded an unprecedented year during a historic global pandemic, and have shed a spotlight on complex histories and realities that we live with everyday and in all parts of our lives. As we continue a new journey towards healing together, I invite anyone and everyone in the Diamond community to share your stories, thoughts, and feelings, through writing and art. This school-wide collaborative art installation will begin on April 28, 2021, which marks a first return to school in over a year for some, and it will remain an open invitation to add to this wall through the start of the school year in the fall, as more students and teachers return to school. It is my hope that the collective process of reflecting on and sharing the things we have lost, the things we have learned, and the things we love, will allow us to take the first step towards healing, together as a school community here at Diamond, through the powerful medium of visual art.
A special thank you to my students for their courage in getting the ball rolling and taking the first steps in sharing, and I thank you in advance to all who decide to share, as you are equally brave.
Be well,
Ms. Moran
