This piece illustrates the vision that I see when I listen to "Let it Happen" by Tame Impala. This song portrays the message that life is unpredictable, and if we don't live it to the fullest, it can easily be swept out from beneath us. I used bright colors in this piece, because I have experienced how much more vivid life becomes when it is lived with this mentality. The lyrics that I included are meaningful because they present the idea that we have the power to take life into our own hands. In other words, it is important not to succumb to the storm trying to decide how we should live our lives, because in doing so, we lose our true self.

For this piece I chose to represent the lyrics of a song through images. I chose a song with inspiring and empowering lyrics, so I showed rough sketches of a girl falling and getting up on the bottom. Above the sketches, I painted a picture of a girl doing a kickflip indy, a hard but really fun skateboard trick, to portray the theme of success through determination as mentioned in the song lyrics. Another reason that I used a skateboarder in my art was because the song is pretty fast paced so I wanted to show the movement. I also relate music to skateboarding because I usually listen to music while I’m skateboarding to prevent me from becoming frustrated and to make me more energetic so I land more tricks.

I made a drawing based on a song named 거북선(Turtle ship). It is rap song made by Zico, Paloalto, Mino, Ja Mezz, Andup. The song has historical background in it. The turtle ship was real ship that was used by famous Korean general, Yi Soon Shin when he fought Japanese. This ship became famous after Yi Soon Shin defeated 100 Japanese ships using 12 of the turtle ships.

In a metaphorical sense, life is almost like those theater masks, the smiling face in front of the sad face to create an illusion of happiness. In order to maintain the social image I put up in front of others, I wore a mask of complete positivity, unable to truly express “me”. In my drawing, I wanted to emphasize the importance of finding inner peace in all the chaos, taking a leap of faith, and being true to yourself instead of trying to create a wall between yourself and others because you’re scared of what they will think. The yin portion of my artwork symbolizes the fears I struggle with, and the yang portion represents loving myself rather than pointing out flaws. I added gentle sakura blossoms because they remind me of the reassuring calm after the metaphorical storm within me. Most often it is when we’re trying to impossibly be perfect that insecurities seem to overwhelm us, but if we simply take a moment to relax and love oneself, the inner peace allows you to be true to yourself rather than worrying about other people’s thoughts.

My drawing is inspired Dance Monkey(Tones and i)i made this drawing because dance monkey is my favorite song and draw the monkey because of the song title Dance monkey and i put headphones on the money because "dance"i draw monkey with headphones because it's summary the whole song and monkeys are always in good mood.

My favorite song is Novocaine by The Unlikely Candidates. I was at home when I first heard the song. I'm not usually in a particular mood when I'm listening to music, but when I do listen to the song, I feel really upbeat. The beat and pace of the song is really fast and up-tempo. One of the lines of the song is "guess you could blame it on my left side brain". It's probably my favorite song because it's fast and makes sense in a way other songs don't. I don't really associate the song with anything, other than myself, maybe. If I had to illustrate the song I would probably draw the left brain, filled with Novocaine.

I would want viewers to know that my art was inspired by how I have been trying to stay healthy and positive during social distancing by spending time outdoors with my sister. The picture is of my sister on a hike we recently went on, and it was a very beautiful day that was able to lift my mood, so I would hope that the painting would lift the viewer’s mood as well. Spending time in nature and with my loved ones makes me feel better when I’m feeling anxious, which is why I chose to paint this particular image, because it has positive memories associated with it. I also tried a new style of painting that I have never been able to do successfully before - slightly more impressionistic and less exact. You can see the brush strokes, and I really like the textured effect they gave. Normally I’m more exact with my paintings in terms of details, but I thought the more abstract strokes worked very well for the plants and grass, and the different shades of green stand out nicely against each other. The overall bright color scheme of the painting was meant to add to the relaxed feeling I was trying to convey.

For my artwork, I chose the song Ex-Factor by Lauryn Hill. I wanted my art to capture the main feel of the song, which I imagined in hues of muted brown and blue. Some of the lyrics from the song are “No matter how I think we grow, you always seem to let me know, it ain't workin” and "Loving you is like a battle, and we both end up with scars". I interpreted the meaning as one person in a relationship that's putting in more effort than the other, and every day it becomes more of a struggle to keep that relationship alive. They keep finding themselves running back to the other, even though they know it is toxic.I also used the chain breaking to show how they need to break away from each other.

This piece was based on the music video of my favorite song, Dalla Dalla by Itzy. The song is about expressing yourself without fear of others’ judgement. The music video has many references of “going up,” or achieving a certain goal. The elevator buttons and the clouds were based on that idea. Furthermore, the camera and the scanner reference evaluation of how one acts. And the hand symbol at the bottom is actually a crown, and is a main part of the choreography.

If my artwork was hanging in a gallery, I would like my viewers to know that my artwork was inspired by my favorite artist's song, Gone Days by Stray Kids. Gone Days is a song about forgetting about the past mistakes, but still holding onto the memorable memories from the past. I myself have many worries, regrets, and mistakes that I made in the past, but humans always make mistakes and we should be able to learn from the mistakes made. As time passes, the longer you hold on to the bad memories instead of the good ones, you won't be able to make good memories in the present or the future. George Harrison once said, "It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one."

I would want people looking at my work to know first that I worked hard on it. I would also want them to know New York New York is a good song. Also, part of the reason I choose this song was because people in New York are suffering. With Corona virus taking the world by storm and New York is taking the worst of it in the country. I want people to know as awesome as New York's cities are, I want people to be aware of their world right now.

What I want my viewers to think is that this picture is simple. I want them to listen to the song and see this scenery. Cause it’s a pretty simple drawing but it matches the song lyrics right on. I think that the viewers will be questioned and think what does this picture mean. I just want them to know how good the song is. And best way to show them is through getting them to know the lyrics.

My favorite song is "Hedwig's Theme" by John Williams, which is well known from the Harry Potter movies. "Hedwig's Theme", along with all of the visuals in the movies, really brought out the magic. Therefore, in my drawing, the music comes out from the book and brings Hogwarts and Hogwarts Express to life. Quidditch is also one of my favorite parts of the Harry Potter series, and there is a Golden Snitch in the middle. However, behind all of the magic, there is danger lurking, which is why there are darker colors around the light.

I drew me and my friend dancing at radix in December to the song. It's the story of someone on their deathbed who speaks words of wisdom in only a few words on who we are, our part in the greater universe are more importantly that quote 'the universe was made just to be seen by my eyes' this is central to understanding who we are, without the observer the universe, the universe is nothing. There's a level of frustration from the narrator that this great wisdom wasn't written down as he asked the dying man to say those words once more, but that message comes through whether the pen was found or not.

Space is probably one of the most amazing things to look at when the sun is down. In my mind, my favorite song represents it, especially with its cover art. It helps me relax and even makes me sleepy, and stargazing was probably one of my favorite hobbies when I was younger. So, here's a little tribute to my younger self. It may not directly represent music, but the song just pops into my head whenever I look at it.

This piece was inspired by a lyric in "The Nights" by Avicii. The lyric states that these are the nights to never die, implying that the time we are living in now is precious so it should be lived to the fullest. This line made me think of a trip to Utah I went on with the company I work for in December.(We go on a lot of trips). This particular experience was the time we threw a huge bonfire under the stars and stayed out super late. It reminded me of all the amazing experiences I've had with these people and that these are the things I will remember when I become old.

My artwork is inspired by a song called Found Among The Aliens by Molly Kerby. I drew my friend Ophelia for the project because I really appreciate her. I'm very gratful we have stayed friends over the last few years. We both are supporting and helping eachother during quarintine. I'm glad I have a friend like her.

When someone looks at this drawing, I want them to be able to grasp the aspects of the song. I would like it if the person could feel the same way they feel when they listen to the song. In order to capture the bold aspects of this song, I made sure to push the dark values. Additionally, the font that I wrote the word "ON" in is meant to enhance the boldness established throughout the drawing. I also wanted to make sure that the people who are dancing look care free, because that is another important feeling from the song.

I first heard the Song Claire De Luna when I was watching the lunar eclipse with my family. It is a really touching memory that I will always hold dear. Strangely, I’m not that into just plain piano music. I think that the reason I like this song so much is that it has connections to my personal life. I chose to make my painting based on the Moon tarot card. This card embodies mystery, femininity, and peace of mind. These are all things that I can relate to the song.

If viewers in a museum were to see this, and hear the song I chose, I'd want them to know that everything seems to work out in life, no matter how much you may worry about something. Don't focus on one bright thing in your life, like the girl in the illustration is doing, make sure to look around you. You never know what kinds of opportunities may strike you during a time of hardship. Also, don't focus on the bad things in your life. Give it a little bit of worry, but don't feed into it. Give everything your best shot, try to fix your problems as much as you can, and then leave them once you can't do anything else to fix them. It's not worth crying, getting angry, or feeling any emotion over any problem you can't fix right now. There is a path for everyone and everything will turn out how it was destined to be.

If my artwork were hanging in a gallery, I would want people to know that I used paints to make it. It is of a girl climbing up a mountain persevering. She has her rock climbing gear and a helmet on. She is trying to get to the top of the mountain as fast as possible. She will not give up and is persevering. In her speech bubble she is saying “I won’t give up!” This painting is inspired by the song The Greatest by Sia.

My painting was inspired by nature. I chose to paint flowers because spring is making everything bloom. Nature has always made me feel calm, just like my favorite song. I’m hoping that it will bring in some of the brightness outside into my house. I mixed my own colors to try to replicate the unique colors of each flower.

The song Skinny Love by Bon Iver it’s about shallow love. The main character of this song knows that their love interest is neither good for them nor there for them. I tried to show that in my artwork where the woman is hugging a man’s outline, showing that he’s not really there for her, or only part of him is there for her. The main character of the song is aware of their bad choices, and in my piece the subject can see her heart literally being pulled apart by her bad choices. The cracks in the background symbolize the cracks in the foundation of the relationship. Although the subject knows her relationship is shallow and toxic, she clings onto it hoping for a silver lining.

My song choice was “Demons” by Imagine Dragons and it’s kind of a dark song if you really pay attention to the lyrics. There is a guy stuck and chained up in his own demon created by his sins, the darkness hasn’t completely touched him yet which is why there is light around him because there is someone he loves keeping him in the light. Not only is he closed out but so are the buildings, they have no doors or windows except for one which resembles his only way out of the sad reality. The painting is meant to look blurry because if you look at the man he is fading away into the darkness and as he fades, everything around him does too. There are lyrics in the song which are, “When the days are cold And the cards all fold” meaning it’s dark and gloomy out and the cards folding represents everyone giving up, which is why cards are falling from the sky. More lyrics are “We still are made of greed” which is why there is also money falling from the sky. I chose to write the lyrics “With the beast inside There’s nowhere we can hide” because that represents the man, he can’t go anywhere and hide from his demons if he is chained to it.

I chose to create my painting based off of the song "Oceans" by Martin Garrix ft. Khalid. The song talks about a metaphorical ocean, but I wanted to represent the ocean in the painting. I decided to incorporate the first line of the chorus, as it is mentioned throughout the song and it's an important part of it. I also painted the ocean at night because the song has more of a relaxed tone, which reminds me of nighttime. I thought the calm stillness of the ocean at night represented the song because it ties into the message and lyrics.

I made a drawing based on one of my favorite songs “Stressed Out”. This song is by the band Twenty One Pilots, which is the first (main) band that I saw in a concert. Their song is about missing their childhood. Some of the lines from the song are “Wish I could turn back time,” and “We would build a rocket ship and then we’d fly it far away.” My Art is based on those lines. The clocks represent the first line and the second line is represented by a rocket flying far away into space.

If my drawing was in a gallery, I would want viewers to think that hope is not all lost in this coronavirus pandemic. As of right now many people, if not everyone, are struggling with the coronavirus pandemic; Everyone is impacted by it in some way. Whether if you are infected by it, you have someone dear to you that is infected, or you lost your job, it's important to note that not everything is lost. You must keep fighting for that sliver of hope through all of this. (Outlined with black ink pigma pens)

My artwork is inspired by Why by Sabrina Carpenter. The first lyric of the song is “you like new york city in the daytime, I like new york city in the nighttime” I drew a city with only black and white to bring out the contrast between those 2 colors. The song is basically about how people can be so different but still be together kind of like yin and yang because they are like light and day and they balance each other out. I also cut out the letters from magazines and scattered them around the city to show that even though the people are different they are still the same in a way.

I really enjoyed this assignment because the song I chose is one of my favorite songs. It always reminds me of summer so I was being reminded of all my amazing summer memories. The song always makes me think of the beach. I want the viewers to know that although it was difficult to incorporate song and drawing, I personally can hear the song in my head when I see the drawing. So now I have the drawing as something else that can put me in a good mood. I would definitely recommend the viewer trying it with their favorite song. It is a great way of expressing yourself.

If my artwork was hanging in a museum or gallery I would hope the observers would notice how random some of the things that I incorporated into the art work. These specific things I added in are objects I always think of when I hear this song. Looking at what I think of the song the viewer can notice how busy and unorganized it is. The different wavy lines in the background contribute to that chaotic feel. Finally, I would hope that they are able to focus on the specific objects found in the art. These objects anchor down the chaotic background and tell the observer the story the song is trying to tell.

My drawing (Option #1) is based on "Ocean Eyes," a song by Billie Eilish. My interpretation of the song is that a girl is in love with a soldier. In his eyes, she sees "burning cities and napalm skies." She falls in love with his eyes and can't stop staring into them. Since he can't be with her physically, I drew her on her surfboard looking out into his eyes during sunset. Behind his eyes, are the "burning cities." I also incorporated some of the lyrics that stood out to me most in the drawing.
